What does it mean to re-authenticate my connection with an app?

Introduction:

In order to ensure seamless integration between Notion and Chat Aid, it's crucial to understand the process of re-authentication and adding sources.

1. Why is Re-authentication of Notion Account Required?

  • When a new page is added on Notion, Chat Aid does not have access to view the new page. It is essential to re-authenticate your account to grant Chat Aid access to view the updat
  • Upon initial integration, you would have designated specific files for Chat Aid's viewing access. However, any new pages added after the integration won't be visible to Chat Aid
  • For example, if you comnected your Notion account on Feb 10 and selected files for Chat Aid to view, any subsequent additions worlt be accessible until re-authentication is pe

2. Adding Sources for Chat Aid:

  • Re-authenticating Notion only grants Chat Aid access to "view" selected pages; it does not enable Chat Aid to "read" or train on them.
  • To enable Chat Aid to read and train on Notion pages, you need to designate them as sources.
  • When encountering a new file on Notion, it's necessary to re-authenticate your account and grant Chat Aid access to view the file.
  • After re-authentication, you can then add the file as a source for Chat Aid, allowing it to analyze and incorporate the content into its training data.

Please note that while re-authenticating notion, you must ensure that all the sources that were previously added and the new sources that you want to add are selected in the form that is used for re-authentication.
